In this co-current parallel flow dryer with a top mounted nozzle
atomization system the coarse spray droplets are dried slowly while gently
falling down the long residence time tower-like chamber. The dried particles
are seperated by gravity in the enlarged conical section into a coarser main
fraction and fines collected from the exhaust air.
The coarse fraction
can be cooled by air introduced into the lower part of the cone, or further
dried / cooled in a vibrating fluid-bed.
The fines can be recycled to
the atomization zone for incorporation by agglomeration, or to the liquid feed.
Product: Can produce free-flowing, dustless powders
consisting of coarse, individual beads.
