Spray Dryer size 6.3 - Proved ideal for continuous small scale production.

For a given dryer capacity, the properties of the liquid to be dried, the particle size distribution, and the quality of the powder to be produced are most important, and these must be carefully considered when selecting the design of spray dryer and the type of atomizer.

If a semi-industrial powder production is required, the 6.3 size range of Niro spray dryers are an excellent choice.

Three dryers make up the series, each having the same air flow rate and an evaporative capacity ranging from 20 to 60 kg/h, depending upon drying temperatures. They have proved ideal for continuous small scale production of specialist type powders and/or products where cGMP or equal requirements involve validation.

DRYER SELECTION
The smallest spray dryer in the series, P-6.3, can be equipped with either a rotary atomizer or a two-fluid nozzle and is recommended for those products classified as 'easy-to-dry'.

The SD-6.3-N and SD-6.3-R, with their larger diameter drying chambers, are preferred when the product requires longer residence time for completing the drying process, or where the powder specification requires a more coarse particle size.

P-6.3
The P-6.3 spray dryer equipped with either nozzle or rotary atomizer is suited for a wide variety of products dried in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries and which are characterized as being fairly easy to dry.

SD-6.3-N
The SD-6.3-N equipped with nozzle atomizer (two-fluid or pressure nozzle) produces the coarser, free-flowing powders required for pressing and handling operations in the ceramic, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

SD-6.3-R
The SD-6.3-R spray dryer has the largest diameter drying chamber of the 6.3-series, enabling use of a rotary atomizer to produce either fine or coarse, free-flowing powders in the same unit. This flexibility is achieved by adjustment to the atomizer wheel speed.
