Detergents - The spray drying processes can be designed with
co-current, counter-current or mixed airflow patterns.
Within this product group Niro offers a broad range of technical solutions
special designed for agglomeration, granulation and drying in the conventional
household and industrial detergent industry.

SPRAY DRYING (TOWER PRODUCTS):
The spray
drying processes can be designed with co-current, counter-current or mixed
airflow patterns. With the feed being atomised either by pressure nozzle, two
fluid nozzles or rotary atomiser. The type of feed varies between melts,
solutions and slurries. The drying chamber is designed to insure the needed air
flow and product residence time, being different from product to product.
The exhaust air can be designed with cleaning in cyclones, bag filters
and scrubbers. In some cases the bag filters can be installed in the top of the
drying chamber and thereby minimising the plant area consumption and the need
for an external fines return system is avoided.
GRANULATION (NON TOWER PRODUCTS):
The Niro
Continuous High Shear Granulator (HECTM Series), has been specially developed
to meet industrial requirements of converting dusty, light powders into high
density free-flowing granulates. The HECTM handles a wide variety of powders.
Initially developed for the detergent industry to produce compact powders with
densities ranging from medium to high density.
